COLUMBIA, MO. -- Missouri U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill brought her Hometown Energy Tour to Columbia on Monday afternoon.

McCaskill held a roundtable discussion and took a tour at Columbia’s power plant.

The Democratic Senator wants to use her energy tour to gather input on how to help grow and expand businesses, such as opening up alternative forms of energy production and focusing on energy efficiency.

McCaskill said, “It’s great to have a roomful of people from a number of different places like the University and from MST to talk about the research that’s ongoing that holds real potential for keeping costs down, reliability steady and being better for the environment at the same time.”

McCaskill will also hear from Missourians in St. Louis, Kansas City, Cape Girardeau, and the Springfield and Hannibal areas on her energy tour.
