JEFFERSON CITY -- Wednesday night the Capital City welcomed back those who have called it home during the legislative session with the Taste of Jefferson City at the Capitol Plaza Hotel.

Not only is the annual event a welcome back celebration, those that were there also got to meet newly elected senators and representatives.

Jefferson City Area Chamber of Commerce members in the food and beverage industry were also on hand showcasing their businesses.

"The legislature, they provide a huge economic impact to our community and while they're in town, we like for them to visit restaurants and local establishments so they can experience Jefferson City and see that we're a welcoming community, that we like when they are in town and that we like their business,” director of economic development for the Jefferson City Area Chamber of Commerce Missy Bonnot said.

The taste of Jefferson City has been going on for 18 years.
