The nation's third busiest shopping day of the year had Mid-Missourians scrambling to return unwanted gifts and snap up even bigger deals.

In the capital city Monday afternoon thousands hit up the mall and discount retailers like Wal-Mart and Kohls to grab discounts ranging from 30 to 80 percent off.

Online deals are endless.

Android digital tablets are just $178 at Wal-Mart.

Gap has an extra 20 percent off all sale items, and Ulta beauty is offering fragrance gift sets buy one get one free.

Shoppers at target and Wal-mart all grabbed deeply discounted Christmas decor and wrapping paper.

We talked to a couple who were getting the biggest bang for their buck.

Jeryl Bennet said, "Bargains...well we found the deal of the day, it was this throw fleece for $2.50 so we'll take our apples and oranges and eat right for the new year and we'll snuggle up by the fire place and we're set".
