Man lying in road hit by car

A Jefferson City man was taken to an area hospital in critical condition after being hit by a car while lying in the road.

Jefferson City Police said the accident happened at 4:16 a.m. Sunday in the 900 block of Ellis Blvd. Police said a car, driven by Stephen M. Grohs of Holts Summit, hit Arnulfo S. Antele as he was lying in the road. Antele, 25, of Jefferson City, was transported to Capital Region Medical Center for treatment.

He was later transported to University Hospital in critical condition.
