The Missouri Digital Heritage website, a link from the Secretary of State's website, has been named one of the best websites in the nation for genealogy research.

KRCG's Facebook Crew did a little research Friday to see how the website actually worked.

After doing some research we found that the site is easy to use and very helpful in tracing family history.

All you have to do is log on to www.sos.mo.gov and click on Genealogists and Historians.

When a tab bar pops up, scroll down and click Missouri Digital Heritage.

When the search bar appears, you can insert the information you're after and click search.

Most of the people we talked with Friday told us learning about the past is very important to them.

"I think it's fantastic that we have the technology to do that today. I would encourage everyone to go dig back and learn what you can about your family,” Cole County Resident Don Hentges said.

There are more than six million records that can be accessed through the Missouri Digital Heritage website.
