It's been one year since a triple homicide in Callaway County spawned a manhunt that eventually led to the arrest of Joshua Maylee.

Around 11 p.m. Oct. 26, 2010, authorities believe Joshua Maylee went to Jeffrey and Gina Werdehausen's cabin near Tebbetts. Gina reportedly heard something outside and was shot in the neck outside of the home. Gina survived the shooting, but her husband Jeffrey did not. The bodies of Eugene and Jackie Pinet were found at their Holts Summit home early the next morning.

Law enforcement immediately connected the two shootings. The Mid-Missouri Major Case Squad was activated and suspect Joshua Maylee was named by noon on Oct. 27.

Law enforcement agencies began a manhunt for Maylee who was believed to be armed with a high power rifle.

Maylee was arrested on Oct. 28 in Cooper County after calling authorities and telling them he had hand and foot injuries. Deputies found him at a home off Highway 179.

Since his arrest, Maylee has been charged with three counts of first degree murder and one count of first degree assault. He also has pending theft charges that were filed before the murders. His trial is scheduled to begin next October.
