A one car accident in Cole County killed a Jefferson City woman early Sunday morning.

Kimberly A. Bond, 23, of Jefferson City died in the accident. According to the Highway Patrol crash report, Bond was driving a 1993 Pontiac eastbound on Highway 50 just east of Kaylor Bridge Road around 4 a.m. Sunday.

Authorities said Bond traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned causing the vehicle to strike a tree. The vehicle continued rolling down a steep embankment striking several trees in its path.

Troopers said the vehicle came to rest on its wheels in a field. Bond was pronounced dead at the scene.
