The only surviving driver in a three vehicle accident on Route C in August has been indicted by a Cole County Grand Jury for two counts of 2nd degree murder and one count of DWI aggravated offender.

Damien T. Bryan was driving a Ford truck across Route C on Rumsey Lane when a Lexus SUV driven by Joan Hamilton, 75, of Lenexa, Kan. struck his truck. Authorities believe a Chevrolet Blazer, driven by 58-year-old Donald Edwards of Russellville struck the Lexus after the initial accident.

Hamilton and Edwards both died as a result of the accident.

The Highway Patrol called in a special crash recreation unit and closed Route C for several hours the afternoon of the accident. Bryan was injured, by released the next day from the hospital.

Bryan has at least three prior guilty pleas for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in Missouri.
