Tyson Fresh Meats continues their recall of more than 130,000 pounds of ground beef that might be contained with E. coli.

The ground beef in question was not delivered to the Dillons Stores in Mid-Missouri. That’s according to a Tyson Foods spokesperson. Sheila Lowrie, Communications Coordinator for Dillon Stores, said this recall does not include the Dillons and Gerbes stores in Missouri.

The Department of Agriculture announced Wednesday that it became aware of the problem when Ohio health authorities reported that a family in Butler County had become ill with E. coli. Ground beef in the family's home tested positive for the bacteria.

The Kroger beef was distributed in Tennessee and Indiana; the Butcher's beef in North and South Carolina and the generic beef in Missouri, Illinois, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Indiana, New York, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin.

Lowrie said the meat in question was shipped to Kroger stores in Northeast Missouri and Poplar Bluff.

The products being recalled include Kroger-brand ground beef; Butcher's Brand beef and generic label beef, which were all produced August 23rd.

Each package bears the establishment code EST 245D, as well as a “Best Before or Freeze By SEP 12, 2011.”

The ground beef was sold in pre-packaged printed tubes or “chubs” that are placed directly into the retail meat case.  The recall does not involve any clear film, tray pack ground beef or any ground beef patties.
