The Missouri Department of Natural Resources tells KRCG that the oil leak at Thomas Hill Reservoir is pretty much cleaned up.

Tuesday mornings, coal-fired power plant in Clifton Hill, Missouri had a turbine leak oil into a tributary of the lake.

DNR tells us crews were able to quickly clean up the 120-gallons of leaked oil.

"When staff went to the site Tuesday they did discover that there was no fished killed from the incident. Slso they don't anticipate any environmental problems from the spill,” DNR Spokesperson Renee Bungart said.

Bungart said that there have been booms placed in the lake to soak up any remaining oil.

They expect it to all be cleaned up by Thursday.

Thomas Hill Energy Center Officials are asking people to stay away from the Brush Creek Boat Ramp until the clean-up is complete.

Original Story:

A Missouri Department of Natural Resources' crew is helping clean up an oil leak from the Thomas Hill Energy Center in North Central Missouri.

The plant is in Clifton Hill, Missouri.

It leaked oil into a water way that drains into the Thomas Hill Reservoir.

Officials said they notified DNR and the EPA immediately when equipment started to leak Tuesday morning.

They have isolated the faulty equipment, but could not tell us how much oil was released.

Officials are asking people to stay away from the Brush Creek boat ramp until they're through cleaning up.

Once we have any more information about the leak, we'll post updates.
