10 years ago, Americans' lives changed forever. Mid-Missourians were among the many who sprang to action to help.

Missouri Task Force 1 arrived in New York City six days after the terrorist attack. They searched among the rubble for 11 days and found no survivors.

Members of the Capital Area Chapter of the Red Cross also went to the scene to do anything they could to help.

KRCG Reporter Mark Slavit was in New York City, telling us the stories about these courageous individuals who came together to help a nation.
