Saturday night hundreds of people filled the streets of downtown Jefferson City for the Connect to the Arts Festival.

The event is organized by the Jefferson City Cultural Arts Commission.

Saturday morning there was a parade on High Street along with kids' art activities.

Different types of artwork was on display throughout the day including art exhibits, street chalk art and performers.

Musicians also took the stage for the 20th annual Capitol Jazzfest.

Lucia Kincheleo said, "We're trying to promote the depth and breath of our artistry here in Jefferson City and they don't always have an opportunity to showcase what they're doing here."

Mary Anne Hall told us, "There are artists of all different kinds and we want people to be exposed to the variety of talent we have in this area.”

The Taste of Missouri will go until 7 p.m.

And later, starting at 8, there will be a Bud Light street party with live music.
