FULTON, MO. -- The plaza on Westminster College's campus is lined with American flags in remembrance of the tenth anniversary of September 11th.

The memorial is sponsored by the college republicans on campus but students of all parties helped out.

Sunday marks the anniversary of the attacks and these thousands of flags represent the people killed that day.

Westminster College student, Emily Moore, was just 10-years-old when it happened but she said it's important we take the time to remember all that was lost.

"That day we lost so many important people and we're just here to honor them and hopefully other people are able to see that and come participate as well," Moore said.

Moore said the flags are to also remember the sacrifices people make everyday for our freedom.

In all there are 2,740 flags.
