COLUMBIA, MO. -- Update: Monday, Sept. 12 at 6:25 p.m.:

Derrick Washington appeared in court Monday for a scheduled hearing, but no major decisions were made.

There was a request to have a pool of 80 jurors to choose from. The trial is expected to last two days.

Washington's jury trial for his deviate sexual assault charge is expected to begin Tuesday, September 20.

Update: Monday, September 12th at 9:00 a.m.:

Just three days after a delay in a domestic violence case, Derrick Washington is expected to be back in court Monday for a separate charge.

The former Missouri Tigers running back is charged with felony sexual assault involving a former athletics tutor.

There is a pre-trial hearing set for Monday afternoon, and a trial set for next Tuesday.

Original Story:

There was another delay in court for former Missouri Tiger running back Derrick Washington.

Washington was scheduled to appear in court on Friday afternoon for the first of 2 criminal cases that led to his dismissal from the team one year ago.

Defense Attorney Chris Slusher was scolded by a judge for the delays in the case.

Prosecutors charged Washington with 2 counts of misdemeanor domestic violence after an ex-girlfriend said he poked her eyes and choked her during an argument last September.

Washington also faces another trial later this month on a felony sexual assault charge involving a former Missouri athletics tutor.

A pre-trial hearing in that case is set for Monday.

The one-time Tiger co-captain has pleaded not guilty in both cases.

Both of his trials have been repeatedly delayed.
