Jefferson City police took a man into custody early Monday morning after being led on a short pursuit.

After receiving reports of a hit-and-run accident on E. McCarty St, police were able to locate the suspect vehicle near the intersection of Stadium Blvd. and Jefferson St. The suspect vehicle did not stop for the officers and a pursuit ensued.

The car went northbound on Jefferson but it ended in the 100 block of E. McCarty. The suspect was then taken into custody. He is accused of multiple crimes including driving while intoxicated, felony hit-and-run, and felony resisting arrest.

Police determined that the suspect hit four separate vehicles on McCarty St., in addition to losing his right front tire while attempting to evade police.
