14-year-old hit by car

JEFFERSON CITY, MO. -- A 14-year-old boy is recovering after being hit by a car.

The teenager, Kaleb Gilpin, was crossing the  the 1300 block of E. Elm St. diagonally at about 3:45 Saturday afternoon.

That's when Jefferson City Police said  he was hit by 21-year-old Ryan Stiefermann driving a 1997 Pontiac Grand-Am driving westbound.

Gilpin had injuries to his head, left shoulder, left side torso and had cuts on both legs.

Gilpin was  taken to St. Mary's Hospital where he was treated and released.
