Mid-Missouri retail Post Offices are being studied for the possibility of shutting down.
The Postal Service is considering closing more than one in 10 of its retail outlets. Last year, the post office lost $8 billion and the agency is looking at more than 3,600 local offices, branches and stations for possible closings.
Most are in rural areas, though several are being studied in both Kansas City and St. Louis.
In Mid-Missouri, the following offices are being studied:
Arrow Rock
Clarksburg
Syracuse
Jacksonville
Olean
Portland
Steedman
Tebbetts
Wooldridge
