The Audrain County Prosecuting Attorney has dismissed criminal charges against the Mexico Public Schools' Superintendent Tina Woolsey and District Maintenance Supervisor Patrick Hanley.
The prosecutor said the Mexico School Board met Tuesday, July 19th to discuss the matter.
He said the District's response to the charges indicated that the Board of Directors did not believe the District had been a victim of a crime.
Also the Board of Directors indicated the matter was an internal district matter under review by the Board of Education.
Original Story:
Mexico Public Schools' superintendent and maintenance supervisor are facing criminal charges for stealing.
It appears that Superintendent Tina Woolsley and Maintenance Supervisor Mark Hanley took Woolsley's SUV to Mexico Public Schools' Bus Garage and had it repaired.
Both Woolsley and Hanley face a class A misdemeanor charge for stealing services that are less than $500, for allegedly using school personnel and equipment to fix Woolsley's SUV.
The probable cause statement states that some people saw Superintendent Tina Woolsley's SUV being worked on in the Mexico Public Schools' Bus Garage during the week of May 23, 2011.
They confronted Woolsley about the problem and she admitted that her SUV was being repaired.
A hearing is scheduled for both Woolsley and Hanley Tuesday July 26th at the Audrain County Courthouse.
