A man wanted for more than a year in Boone County is now behind bars.

John Roy Jones, 58, of Fayette, was arrested in Kansas City on Thursday and is now in the Boone County Jail on $45,000 bond.

Jones was wanted after authorities suspected him in the assault of a 37-year-old woman. Police said Jones stole the woman's 1997 Subaru Legacy during a disturbance at a residence on Kensington Lanes north of Columbia in June 2010. Jones and the woman were in a relationship.

Jones is facing charges of 2nd degree robbery, tampering with a motor vehicle and tampering with a victim.
