Two Columbia men were arrested in separate knife attacks.

Thursday night at 11:45, Columbia police responded to a report of a large fight at 10th and Broadway. Officers said a 19-year-old male victim had been stabbed twice. He was transported a local hospital with a collapsed lung.

Police said the suspect was located running from the assault. Deon Woods was arrested for armed criminal action and assault in the first degree.

Early Friday morning at 3:45, officers were dispatched to a house on Old Plank Road for a male victim who had been bleeding and went to the hospital.

The 21-year-old victim said he and Merrit Iles were involved in a heated argument. The victim said during the argument, Iles attacked him with a knife.

The male victim had a cut nearly 6 inches long near his right eye, several cuts in the middle of his chest and cuts on his hand.  He was transported to a local hospital and treated for his injuries.

Iles was arrested for assault in the first degree and armed criminal action.
