Overnight fire at senior apartments

A senior citizen apartment complex in Cooper County went up in flames early Thursday morning.

Fire crews got the call around 1:00 a.m. that the Bunceton Senior Apartments on Main Street were on fire.

Fire Chief Wendall Cunningham said all the residents escaped unharmed.

Thursday morning around 7:30, crews were still on the scene extingushing hot spots.

Cunningham says very few items from the building seem to salvageable, and overall he would call the building a total loss.
