Four people were arrested on charges related to burglaries and stolen property linked to drug trade.

On Friday June 3, Phelps County deputies said they responded to the 17000 block of Highway F for a reported burglary.

A search of the residence turned up a number of items were found missing, including vehicle parts, welding equipment and a motorcycle.

On June 8th, deputies again responded to the residence. No one was there, but deputies thought the suspects would be returning.  During the early morning hours of June 9th, two individuals were arrested and one fled into the woods only to be located later a short distance from the scene.

Deputies gathered information that resulted in the issuance of a search warrant for 201 West Springfield Street in St. James.  During that search, thousands of dollars of stolen property was recovered, including property from the previous burglary on Highway F, as well as burglaries in the 600 block of Eisenhower Street in Doolittle and the 10000 block of Concord Drive in Rolla.

The majority of the property recovered included tools, shop equipment and other construction equipment.  Deputies said they suspected the property was being stolen and exchanged for methamphetamine and cash.

Those arrested on F Highway include 20-year-old Jack Michael Henson of Newburg, 17-year-old Joshua Allen Johnson of rural Rolla and 22-year-old Sarah Jamie Yates of rural Rolla.  28-year-old Clifford Dale Pankey of rural St. James was arrested at the scene on West Springfield Street.

Johnson and Yates were booked on charges of burglary in the 2nd degree and have been released on $25,000 bond.

Pankey was booked on charges of receiving stolen property and was released on $10,000 bond.

Henson was booked on charges of burglary in the 2nd gegree and is still in jail on a $25,000 bond.
