CALLAWAY COUNTY, MO. -- The case against Sandra Plunkett, 37, was continued to a June 13 arraignment in Callaway County Circuit Court after her attorney waived her preliminary hearing on Friday morning.

Plunkett is charged with first degree murder in the shooting death of her husband Paul Plunkett, 52.

Holts Summit police investigators said Plunkett confessed to shooting her husband in the back of the head with a rifle while he was lying in a hospital bed in the couple’s bedroom on New Year’s Day.

Sandra Plunkett is currently in the Callaway County Jail.
