St. Louis fire officials say a man who drowned during a late-night swim in the Lake of the Ozarks was a veteran firefighter for the city.
The Missouri State Water Patrol says 39-year-old Timothy L. Miller died early Monday in the lake in Camden County. Neighbors told the patrol that they heard him shouting for help in Salt Hollow Cove but Miller had already gone under when they got to the dock.
St. Louis fire Capt. Dan Sutter told The St. Louis Post-Dispatch that Miller had been a city firefighter for about 10 years. Funeral arrangements are pending.

A St. Louis man is dead after drowning in the Lake of the Ozarks.
The Missouri Water Patrol says just before 1:00 a.m. Monday, witnesses reported hearing the man call for help. They said he was in the water about 75 to 100 feet from their dock.
While neighbors were coming to help, the man went under and didn't resurface.
Divers located the body of 39-year-old Timothy Miller around 4:15 a.m. Monday.
