FULTON, MO -- A Mexico, Missoouri man is in jail after he fled from police last night.

Fulton Police said around 10:30 Tuesday night, they tried to pull over the car 46 year-old John Russell Chaney was driving near the intersection of 7th and Westminster Avenue. Officers said Chaney sped away. Officers caught up with him and took him into custody near Hwy HH and Jade Road.

The Fulton Police Department said Chaney was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, resisting arrest by fleeing and careless and imprudent driving. He also had an outstanding Callaway County warrant for his arrest for possession of dangerous drugs/methamphetamine, with a bond of $15,000.

This is the second time with the past 30 days that officers have pursued Chaney for drug possession.  On April 24, Chaney was found in possession of a white power substance believed to be meth. At the time, Chaney led officers on a short foot pursuit before being apprehended.  More charges could be coming.
