Around 7:00 Monday morning, a United States Federal Bureau of Prisons transport bus broke down on the side of 1-44 just eastbound of 153 mile marker in Pulaski County.

All available deputies with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene of the bus loaded with 40 maximum security inmates to secure the scene.

Deputies said the inmates were being transferred from a federal prison in Oklahoma to a federal prison in Indiana. The bus had a three man crew.
