JEFFERSON CITY, MO -- A spokesman at the Jefferson City Correctional Center confirmed a staff member was assaulted by an offender.
The incident happened at 2:30 on Sunday, April 3. The employee was transported to a local hospital for treatment and was released later that day.
The JCCC spokesman said the incident is still under investigation and no further information would be released at this time.
