JEFFERSON CITY, MO. -- Jefferson City residents got the opportunity to meet the candidates running for several city positions.
A candidate forum was held at city hall Thursday night.
On April 5 voters in Jefferson City will choose who they want in the government positions.
Five seats are open on the city council board.
Voters will also decide on who will be the municipal judge and will also decide on their city prosecutor.
The chamber of commerce hosted the event.
"We saw an opportunity for us not only to be able to educate voters but educate our members, educate the public about what's going on,” Chamber of Commerce member and Government Chair for Young Professionals Stephanie bell said. “It's most important for us that people enter the elections, all elections including the upcoming election, just being informed, knowing the candidate, knowing what issues are going to be on the ballot."
