CALLAWAY COUNTY, MO -- Officials are investigating a fatal fire in Callaway County.
The county’s Central Fire Protection District received a call just before 7 a.m. Friday for a house on County Road 113, which is just outside Fulton. An official told KRCG the caller reported the house already was on the ground.
When firefighters arrived they said there was nothing left. It took them about 20 minutes to extinguish the fire.
An elderly woman was found dead in the home.
The state fire marshal’s office said an investigator is still on the scene trying to determine what caused the blaze.
