COLUMBIA, MO. -- The beginning of the NCAA Basketball Tournament fell on St. Patrick’s Day this year.

That means thousands of people are celebrating Irish traditions and hoops at area bars and restaurants.

One of Columbia’s most popular spots for watching March Madness is in the Sports Zone at Columbia’s Holiday Inn Executive Center.

Tiger Fans plan to enjoy some green beer as they watch their favorite basketball team on a television with a screen that’s 18 by 24 feet.

Some Tiger Fans consider the Sports Zone as a Mini-Mizzou Arena.

Sports Zone General Manager Heather Hargrove said, “When everybody gets here, they usually really get into the game.  Everybody’s excited.  It’s kind of like a Mini-Mizzou Arena.  Everybody is cheering and clapping.  They’re making new friends.  It’s just a really great atmosphere to be in.”

You can watch the Mizzou Tigers and the Cincinnati Bearcats in the Big Dance shortly before 9 p.m. tonight on TNT.
