Texas man arrested for assault

Tuesday night, A Pulaski County Deputy was dispatched to the 14,000 block of Highway Z for a reported assault.

Upon arrival he found a man who was bleeding badly after a beer glass had been rammed into his face. This had happened during a small fight, the victim was taken to the Fort Wood Hospital for treatment.

The deputy took statements from witnesses and determined a suspect. After interviewing that suspect he was arrested. The deputy then requested that the Pulaski County Prosecutor file a charge of Assault second degree.

Wednesday, that charge was filed, a class C felony. The suspects name is Ericx Allan Schmidt, a 30-year-old man from Killen, Texas.

Schmidt's bond was set at $5,000. He was able to post bond and was released from custody.
