2 arrested after reports of a male displaying gun in threatening manner

JEFFERSON CITY, MO. -- Officers responded to reports of a male displaying a gun in a threatening manner near Lafayette and E. McCarty Street in Jefferson City Friday afternoon.

A press release from the Jefferson City Police Department said officers at the scene were able to gather suspect information. 

A short time later Officers saw the suspect running into an apartment complex in the 100 Block of Marshall Street. 

Officers then secured the scene and were able to get a search warrant for the residence. 

Members of the Jefferson City Police Department's S.W.A.T later served the search warrant on the residence. 

An 18-year old male was taken into custody for unlawful use of a weapon. 

Another 20-year old male was arrested for hindering prosecution. 

Both men were taken to the Cole County Jail and are awaiting possible charges by the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
