Original story:
A weekend storm pounded most of Missouri Sunday night, causing wind damage to homes and businesses.
The storm passed through the Jefferson City/Columbia area between 9 P.M. and 11:30 P.M. During that time, high winds, hail and heavy rain were reported.
Several reports of tornadoes touching down were made across the state, but so far the National Weather Service has not confirmed those sightings.
Damage ranging from damaged fences to blown-over trees has also been reported. In Franklin County a church's roof was ripped off the building. Luckily no one was injured. Wind gusts of up to 70 MPH were reported across the St. Louis area as well.
Also in the eastern region of the state, more than 30,000 Ameren Corp. customers were without power.
Closer to home, a Freeburg viewer of KRCG called in that his roof was blown off by the wind and that power lines are lying all over near the house.
Damage has been reported from Osage County, particularly along County Road 806 outside of Linn. A caller told us that multiple barns have been blown down, leaving pieces of tin and sheet metal scattered across the country side. Also along that road, several large trees were blown down and blocked the roads. Crews from Osage and Cole County worked throughout the night trying to clear that roadway.
Excello, in Macon County, is reporting that hail covered the nearby section of Highway 63, causing multiple accidents before Midnight.
And in Cairo, there are reports of home damaged as well as cars and a tractor-trailor being blown off of the highway.
Be sure to stay caught up with the KRCG WeatherLAB for all of your severe weather information.
