WEBSTER GROVES, MO. (AP) -- An Amtrak train has struck and killed a pedestrian in suburban St. Louis.

Police in Webster Groves said Saturday they would not disclose the victims' identity until Monday.

Police said the accident occurred Friday afternoon.

Amtrak spokesman Marc Magliari told The St. Louis Post-Dispatch that he did not know what the train's engineer saw leading up to the incident, and referred questions to Webster Groves police.

The train, carrying passengers to Kansas City, continued after an hour's delay.
