The winter storm did significant damage at the Lake of the Ozarks.

Snow caved in a roof at a Discount Furniture Warehouse.

Owner Belinda Phillips said she was not expecting the problem because the roof is not flat.

“It’s slightly pitched, but evidently not enough for this weight,” she said.

The roof collapsed over about half the structure and took down a portion of the rear wall in the building.

The building previously housed Carl’s Warehouse. Most recently, the discount furniture warehouse used the building.

They moved out in November, but Phillips was looking at a new tenant possibility.

“I had a pretty good lead on a new tenant,” she said. “So that’s how the window.”

Phillips family built the building in 1982.

There was also significant damage at lake area boat docks. A dock at Lodge of the Four Seasons collapsed under nearly two feet of snow. Several boats were housed at the dock for winter storage.
