JEFFERSON CITY, MO -- Update on January 20th at 11:30:
Boone County Joint Communications said they're responded to 50 weather related accidents since 6:00 p.m. Wednesday. Officials there say there have been no major injuries in any of those accidents.
One of those accidents involved a snow plow that overturned just after midnight Thursday morning. The driver was trapped, but managed to escape unharmed.
Drivers report the commute between Jefferson City and Columbia on Highway 63 in still slow going at this hour.
Update on January 20th at 7:40 a.m.:
Reports are coming in that Thursday morning's commute is slow going. MoDOT's travel information map indicates most Mid-Missouri roads are still covered with snow. Crews around the area are out plowing to clear roads for drivers.
Reports coming into the National Weather Service show some parts of the area have more than 10 inches of snow. Reports put the snow totals between 8 and 9 inches in Columbia. Totals are closer to 7.6 in Jefferson City. Reports in Fulton are varied at 5.5 to 9 inches. Mexico's totals are about 6 inches. Sedalia is reporting more than 6 inches and Montgomery City about 8 inches. Snow total reports in Boonville are the highest at 10.6 inches.

Just called around to some mid-Missouri counties to get updates on road conditions.
In Boone County, Joint Communications reports that there have been just over two dozen weather-related accidents tonight. most have been slide-offs. There are no road closures but the police say there are some areas to avoid. Clark lane, Chapel Hill and Rock Quarry Road are particularly slick.
In Callaway County, the Sheriff's department reports 35 slide-offs since the snow started. Even with the slick conditions, no roads have been closed.
In Cole County, Highway 54 is back open just south of Ellis Blvd. No other roads are reported closed.
Miller County reports that emergency crews have kept busy after 15 cars have run off the road because of snow and ice. No road closures to report in Miller County.
MoDOT's travel information map shows that most all major roadways in central and northern Missouri are covered in snow.
Updated on January 19 at 10:40 p.m.:
Highway 54 in Jefferson City is back open as of 10:35 p.m. Tuesday.
But the Cole County's Sheriff's Department warns that the area is still extremely slick and snow-packed.
MoDOT has closed eastbound I-70 in Cooper County at the Pilot Grove exit because multiple tractor-trailers have become stuck in the snow. The Troop F headquarters for the Highway Patrol says troopers are making cars exit onto Highway 65 in Saline County.

Police have shut down the eastbound lanes of Highway 54 in Jefferson City because of a jackknifed tractor-trailer.
The closed area is between Highway 179 and Ellis Blvd as the traffic approaches the city from the south.
The closure started at 8:40 p.m.
Police communications in Jefferson City says a number of cars are stuck in the snow behind the tractor-trailer. The dispatcher said cars are having particular trouble with the hill in the highway shortly before the Ellis Blvd. exit.
MoDOT reports that it could take as long as two hours to clear the area and open the lanes to traffic.
