WINDSOR, Mo. (AP) -- A Pettis County man died after a fire consumed his home just southeast of Windsor.

Fire officials say a neighbor of 77-year-old Eldon Harbit reported the fire early Monday. The Sedalia Democrat reported Tuesday that firefighters found Riddle's body after the blaze was extinguished.

Henry Riddle, fire chief for the Windsor Four County Rural District, says an investigator with the state fire marshal's office was unable to determine a cause of the fire because the damage to the home was too extensive.
