Tornado Update: Army's top general visits Ft. Leonard Wood

General Casey offered message of hope

The U.S. Army's top general visited mid-Missouri's Fort Leonard Wood Tuesday to offer support after last week's tornado.

General George W. Casey, Jr. spoke to residents of the Army post about relisience in recovering from the disaster.

The storm hit Fort Leonard Wood on Friday and destroyed several homes on the sprawling Army post.

The Weather Service estimates the Fort Leonard Wood tornado was an EF3 on the Enhanced Fujita scale, with winds of 136 to 165 mph.
