LEBANON, Mo. (AP) -- A southwest Missouri coroner says two children who were found dead near their mother's body on Thanksgiving had been given lethal doses of an anti-anxiety drug.

The deaths of 5-year-old Marissa Morgan, 5-month-old Izaiah Trevino and 28-year-old Sharon Trevino have been labeled an apparent double homicide-suicide. Their bodies were discovered Nov. 25 in their Lebanon home. Police say the mother apparently shot herself in the head.

The Springfield News-Leader reports that autopsies revealed lethal amounts of alprazolam in both children. The drug, with the brand name Xanax, is typically prescribed for anxiety and panic disorders.

Laclede County coroner Steve Murrell says he doesn't know how the drug was administered. Murrell says neither child had visible signs of violence.
