ST. LOUIS (AP) -- No one is hurt, but inspectors are examining two planes after a minor collision at Lambert Airport in St. Louis.
Lambert director Rhonda Hamm-Niebrugge (Hahm-noo-bray-gee) says the planes bumped Tuesday morning as they were preparing to de-ice before takeoff. US Airways says the wingtip of one of its Airbus 319 planes bound for Charlotte, N.C., contacted the wingtip of an Embraer 175 operated by Republic Airways, a regional carrier for US Airways. The Embraer was about to fly to Philadelphia, with 78 on board; the Airbus had 113 people.
US Airways spokeswoman Valerie Wunder says both planes were returned to the gate for inspection. Hamm-Niebrugge says damage appeared to be minimal.
Still, both flights were canceled and Wunder says US Airways was working to make new arrangements for passengers.
