COLUMBIA, MO. -- Salvation Army Officials are preparing for two separate Thanksgiving dinners for low-income individuals and families.

One meal takes place at the Salvation Army’s Center for Hope in Jefferson City.

You can find the other Thanksgiving dinner at Columbia’s Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken Restaurant on Paris Road.

Salvation Army Officials expect to provide about 2,000 meals this Thursday between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

Some meals need delivery drivers.

All meals need more pies and desserts.

“We need sweets, sweets, sweets, sweets!" Regional Coordinator Major K. K. Mathews said. "That’s what we need for our Thanksgiving meal here in Columbia and Jeff City.”

If you would like to volunteer as a driver for delivering Thanksgiving meals or if you would like to donate some food, you can contact the Salvation Army in Jefferson City at 635-1975 or in Columbia at 442-3229.
