COLUMBIA, MO -- Update: Wednesday, Nov. 17 at 7:25 p.m.:

Columbia police arrested 3 Hickman High School seniors for the vandalism at Rock Bridge High School.

An investigator with the police department used surveillance video from the Walmart on Grindstone Parkway to track the suspects. Police say the 3 teenagers bought the white spray paint at 3:30 a.m. on November 12^th.

Wednesday afternoon the investigating officer went to Hickman to speak with Elias Black, 18, Joshua Kostal, 18, and Cameron Phillips, 18. Police arrested them at the high school.

All 3 admitted to the vandalism.

Bond was $4,500 for each teenager, which they all posted.

The preliminary damage estimate is $6,000.

Update: Friday, Nov. 12 at 12:40 p.m.

Rock Bridge Principal Mark Maus described the graffiti as vulgar, with inappropriate words and pictures.

Maus said the school plans to turn a claim into insurance, but wasn’t sure how much the deductible would be.

No matter what the cost, the principal said the graffiti needs to be covered by 3 p.m. Saturday because there will be a soccer game on the school’s field.

Rock Bridge has one security camera focused on the athletic area. Maus said the video has been reviewed, but they couldn’t see anything or anyone on the tape.

Maus said he was at the school’s play performance last night and didn’t see the graffiti at that point, so he believes the incident happened sometime after 10 p.m. Thursday night and before 6 a.m. Friday.

Principal Maus said he feels confident the school, with the help of Columbia police officers, will find the person or persons responsible.

Rock Bridge did not have classes Friday.

Rock Bridge School administrators found graffiti on athletic facilities Friday morning.

Administrators said the graffiti was on the press box, track and signage.

Columbia Police are investigating the incident.

School administrators said clean-up will begin after the insurance company inspects that damage.
