(AP) -- COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) -- The man charged with killing three people in central Missouri last week has been moved to the Boone County Jail.

Joshua Maylee had been held at the Callaway County Jail. He was moved to Boone County to avoid a potential conflict of interest because his uncle is Callaway County Sheriff's Department Capt. Darryl Maylee.

Joshua Maylee is accused in a killing spree last week that left three Holts Summit residents dead and another wounded. He's charged with three counts of first-degree murder and one count of first-degree assault.

The Columbia Daily-Tribune reports that Callaway County Sheriff Dennis Crane said he made the decision to transfer the suspect.
