Suspect in sex slave case denied bond

KANSAS CITY, MO -- A federal judge has denied bond for a Missouri man accused of sex trafficking involving a young woman who says she was tortured as a sex slave for more than six years.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Robert Larsen on Monday denied bond for 50-year-old Dennis Henry of Wheatland. He is is charged with conspiracy, sex trafficking, transportation for sexual activity and use of an interstate facility for unlawful activity.

The Kansas City Star reports that Henry told the judge he believed the woman had consented to the activity.

Five men are facing sex trafficking and conspiracy charges involving the Lebanon, Mo., woman.

Bradley Cook was scheduled to appear at a bond hearing Tuesday afternoon. Prosecutors are opposing the 31-year-old St. Louis man's release.
