JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Attorney General Chris Koster has created a task force to recommend changes to Missouri's laws against domestic violence.

Koster said Wednesday that Missouri's legal framework for domestic violence cases is 30 years old, and it's time to evaluate how well it is working today.

Besides Koster, the task force consists of Deputy Attorney General Joe Dandurand; Democratic state House member Chris Kelly; Colleen Coble, the CEO of the Missouri Coalition against Domestic and Sexual Violence; and Jason Lamb, executive director of the Missouri Office of Prosecution Services.

The first meeting is scheduled for Sept. 7 in St. Louis. Additional meetings are planned later in Columbia and Kansas City.
