The black and gold spirit of the University of Missouri-Columbia campus will be seen on campus street signs this fall.
The financial support of the Mizzou Alumni Association will allow crews to replace the traditional street signs on campus with black and gold signs that display the MU tiger mark.
“On behalf of our governing board and more than 40,000 association members worldwide, we are proud to add a bit more black and gold to the Mizzou campus with the addition of these signs, MAA President Randy Wright said. “This gift aligns perfectly with our mission of supporting the best interests and traditions of Mizzou. As students and alumni return this fall, we hope these distinctive signs will make them feel more at home than ever.”
The project will cost about $5,000 and the majority of the signs will be installed by Thursday.
“We’re thankful to our alumni association for funding these signs,” MU Chancellor Brady Deaton said. “They are an important identification for our students and visitors to campus and help to reinforce Tiger pride for our university community, including alumni."
