ST. LOUIS, MO -- A VA Hospital in St. Louis may have infected thousands of patients with dangerous viruses such as HIV, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C.

The Cochran VA Medical Center has sent letters to more than 1,800 veterans who visited the medical center for dental work.

The hospital has set up a special clinic and education centers to help patients who may have been infected.

Congressman Russ Carnahan is calling for a federal investigation.

The sterilization problem was discovered during quality reviews.

The at-risk veterans had dental work between February of last year and March 11 of this year.
