Columbia is smoke free, now voters in Jefferson City will get the chance to decide if the Capital City will be the same.

The Jefferson City Council Monday night voted unanimously to put the measure on the November ballot.

The group Cole County Partners for Clean Air gathered 1200 signatures of registered voters who support the measure.

If approved, smoking would be banned in most public places including restaurants, bars and retail stores.
