VANDALIA, MO. -- An Illinois man pleads guilty to sexually assaulting a 16-year-old Audrain County girl.
William Studer, 27, of Dixon, Ill. pleaded guilty to two counts of second degree statutory sodomy. Studer was arrested after a Mid-Missouri Internet Crimes Task Force and Vandalia Police Department joint investigation.
During internet chats in late May 2008, Studer persuaded the 16-year-old to take sexually explicit pictures of herself and send them to him via email and deliver them personally.
The victim’s family found the photos on the home computer and alerted the authorities. Officers searched Studer’s Vandalia residence and seized evidence that included computers, hard drives, documents and a tape of the assault.
The Audrain County Prosecutor charged Studer in May 2009. Studer pleaded guilty on March 1, 2010.
