JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) -- A southwest Missouri group that lost contracts to run driver's license offices has been given two new offices.

The Department of Revenue on Thursday awarded license offices in Carthage and Farmington to Alternative Opportunities Inc. The offices charge fees for processing vehicle registrations and driver's licenses. Contracts to run the offices are competitively bid.

Earlier this month, officials revoked 10 contracts awarded to Alternative Opportunities because the not-for-profit planned to use an office manager who was not on its payroll. The state restricts how subcontractors could be used.

A Revenue Department spokesman said Thursday Alternative Opportunities proposed a different office manager for Carthage and Farmington
